NASI GORENG KEBON SIRIH - the Legend “Nasi Goreng Kambing” born in here!

Hello, it’s been a long time since I don’t strolling to kulineran in Jakarta and tonight, thanks to my cousin that she loves to exploring new *welp, for Jakartans is not a new place tho* place for lunch or even hang out on night like we’ve done tonight. We decided to try nasi goreng kambing (lamb fried rice) on Kebon Sirih area, where the one of legendary nasi goreng kambing at Jakarta was born..

Nasi Goreng Kebon Sirih already exist from 1958 and still in the same place where they opened first. The behind idea of this mighty fried rice is Alm. Haji Nein and the recipe still running until now has already on 3rd generations hand.

They've cooked so much fried rice for hundred portions, so the customers don't have to waiting so long for their order.
Ready to serve for a starve stomaches.
Nasi goreng (aka fried rice) is a common dish in Indonesia. And for the lamb fried rice case, Indonesian version is almost same with Indian style Biryani rice. We use the spices like cardamom, turmeric, lemongrass, pepper and other spices for up the strong taste of the lamb and don’t forget for “Minyak Samin” as well (I googled it and in English it’s called “Ghee” and this butter so common for Indian/Pakistan dish). That’s why lamb fried rice more oily and the taste more strong than the other of fried rice (and much much increase your colesterol too, mwahahaha).

1 portion Lamb Fried Rice, IDR 32,000

If you don’t really like lamb (and you’ve been forced by your friend or even gebetan to accompany them), don’t worry, you can choose chicken here. They served the fried rice including acar timun and kubis (cucumber and cabbage pickels) with savory-sour-hot taste, and it’s good! Not only fried rice, they’re also served satay (lamb or chicken) and lamb soup (which is I want to try this but it’s too late for realized that this dish is on the menu list, haaah). If you want some carbo (rice, of course) but not fried, they have a unique menu called Nasi Ala Kambing Guling. They serve a white-warm-rice with chopped roasted lamb meat. You can added fried egg (sunny side up or even omelette) in your order as well if you want.

Timun and kubis acar. It's good for balancing our mouth and stomach after ate the oily fried rice~
Lamb Satay. So tempting, right? Oh yes, baby. For 1 whole portion (10 skewers) IDR 60.000
If you craved so much this fried rice now (if you read on night of course), it’s alright, they open the stall until morning in 2:00 AM and for the weekend they can open it until 3:00 AM. For your info, the stall open at 5 PM and they’ll be more crowded around 7:30 PM and so on (maybe 10 or 11 PM) as for dinner time in Indonesia, hahaha. Aaaanndd, if you don't want to leave your comfort nest, it is alrighty too. You can ordered their menu with Go-Food application (Jakarta only, yah!).

I came at 6:30 PM and the crowd still normal
and more more crowded after 7:00 PM

Well, I’m hungry again after reviewed them, hahaha. Good night then, and have a nice Mon(ey)day! #timgajiantanggal25 #timgajiantanggal30, semangat!
